Monsieur Gustave in Orange Brulee

Woven on a traditional jacquard loom “M. Gustave” is an exceptional velvet whose broken herringbone pattern is resolutely three dimensional. Its two depths and distinctive effects in the weave are the result of a precise technique, the cut and uncut loop technique: on one side we can see a satin pile and on the other the loop with lighter and iridescent stripes. Nonetheless only one color of yarn is used and the rich variations of shades seen come from the pairing of cut and looped pile.
